Dorothy "Dot" Inman-Johnson was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama and was an active participant in the civil rights marches and department store pickets organized by late Reverends Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Fred Shuttlesworth.

Since then, Dot has lived in Tallahassee and dedicated her life to advocating for people in need: From her time as the Collective Bargaining Representative for the Leon County teacher unions during her 28-year career as a public school educator to becoming the first Black woman elected to serve as Tallahassee City Commissioner and Mayor, Dot has never been afraid to fight for what is right.

Dot is running for Tallahassee City Commission, Seat 5 to bring stability and ethical leadership to City Hall. At a time where backroom deals and multi-million dollar giveaways of our tax dollars to developers and corporations have become the norm, Dot brings a track record of delivering for working people and promises to deliver fair wages and poverty reduction for our community on day one in office.
